What is radiology-radiodiagnostics?
Radiology is a branch of science used to diagnose diseases in organs. Today it has taken its place in treatment with interventional radiology as well as diagnosis.
Are the radiological results final?
No. The radiological results are evaluated together with the examinations used for other diagnoses. These are other branches of science such as biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, nuclear medicine.
Equipment used in the radiology department of our hospital:
CT machine: it is a very thin sectional image of various parts of the body using X-rays. Contrast medium is administered intravenously if needed.
Mammography: it is the imaging of the breast with low X-rays. In other words, it is the film of the breast tissue.
X-ray: it is the imaging of various parts of the body with X-rays.
Doppler sonography: it is an examination with sound waves. It is used to dynamically display pregnancy, intra-abdominal organs, cervical thyroid, breast, reproductive organs, hip, soft tissues, arterial vessels in neck, arm and leg.
Magnetic Resonance (MR): this test uses powerful magnets, radio waves and computers to create detailed images of the body to identify and define the differences between healthy and diseased tissue.
Our department has PACS (Imaging Archive).
You can log in to the E-Results section to view and review radiology results.
